My passion is prairies, prairie restoration and especially the prairies of the Pacific Northwest. It started with the plants of the prairie... identifying them, collecting seed to restore, removing non-native species... observing the maturing. Then came insects of the prairie, birds, mammals, amphibians, and reptiles... Quite a personal biological consciousness evolution. My journey started as parks director with only land and no financial resources... and evolved to The Dalles Mountain Prairie restoration at the Columbia Hills State Park in Washington. Now it is happening in my backyard in Corvallis, Oregon.
