Presently working as a Head, Department of Zoology, Gauhati University, Gopinath Bardoloi Nagar, Jalukbari, Assam, India. Did M. Sc. & PhD in Gauhati University in the year 1996 and Post Doc. research in the University of Leeds, UK during 2002 -2003 and Farallon Island Wildlife Refuge, at Pacific Ocean, USA. Associated with the wildlife research and conservation since 1987 and guided and awarded above 25 numbers PhD Scholars in the field of wildlife and biodiversity. Also published more than 170 Research articles and books in national and International journals of repute. Field of Specialization is the Ornithology, Animal Ecology and Wildlife Biology and Biodiversity Conservation.
Presently also associated with the Wetland International as a State Coordinator of Asian Waterbird Count, South Asia and IUCN SSC members Storks Ibises and Spoonbill Specialist Groups since 1997.
