iNaturalist and its contributors are my main source of IDs for unfamiliar plants and animals that I come across. I am a citizen scientist and encourage others as a librarian and educator in my community. Contributions to local, national, and global native knowledge by communities is invaluable. Hopefully communities will begin to see the effects, both positive and negative, that they can have on native species. My own small plot of suburban land is slowly being filled with its own natives which I want to learn more about. Throughout my visits to other nature-rich settings, I observe, learn and report as much as I can.
