I've been interested in birds since the early 1960's, including published work on song and song dialects. My current focus is on arachnids, with work on ecology of scorpions (Scorpiones), and biodiversity surveys of spiders (Araneae). Published the first color-illustrated guide to common spiders of North America (Univ. Calif. Press 2013).
