Retired from the US Environmental Protection Agency as of January 2020 after 41+ years of service. Formally trained as a chemist and while in the lab worked as an analytical organic chemist using GC/MS for volatile organics. In addition, served as a Laboratory Facility Manager for nearly a decade and a half before finally working as an Administrative Special Assistant in the Office of Environmental Information. Exchange student to Brazil during high school. Interests include vegetable gardening, cooking, hiking w/dogs (and spouse), geography, genealogy, travel, photography, fly fishing, crabbing, volunteering, dabbling in languages and history.
