My profile pic is from 1972-ish in rural Old Lyme, CT where I became imprinted with my love of nature. I have since lived in rural western Washington (further imprinting), Maryland, Chicago and Northern California. I studied philosophy at St. John's College and wish I had been smart enough to realize that I wanted to become an ecologist when I had the chance. I am now raising my 3 children. I help run a bamboo nursery, teach gardening at an elementary school, work with the US Fish & Wildlife to train teachers how to develop sustainable schoolyard habitat gardens and do occasional water feature installations. I am a certified naturalist at Pepperwood Preserve. My particular area of interest is habitat water features......and plants.....and critters.
