When I was a kid I would scour my parents' National Audubon Society Field Guides as my father, a UC Davis Zoology Grad, would quiz me on the various plants and animals we would find on our numerous hikes to the river, explorations in California's Gold country and late night trips in the car searching for Tiger Salamanders and Spade Foot Toads on country roads after winter rains. I am currently a teacher and amateur Naturalist and am delighted to find this community of aspiring and professional naturalists and lovers of all things plant and animal on our blue orb called Earth.
