My interest in nature (particularly insects) started while working in natural history museums, primarily working on insect systematics in the Nearctic Tipula (Diptera: Tipulidae). I also worked briefly in botanical collections and have a soft spot for coniferous trees. Since then, I have transitioned to working with digital biodiversity data from a variety of sources and across difference groups of organisms (mostly plants, insects, and birds). I am generally interested in community science, biodiversity informatics, and arctic/subarctic ecology.
