It's just a hobby. Born into a biologist family. Main interest in flies.
The fly on my nose was a Phaonia angelicae.
The photos are usually taken of living animals in their natural environment unless mentioned otherwise.
I do not collect specimens. But anybody who needs some is invited to come here and collect some, a spacious low-cost accomodation is available on site.

My current photo equipment
Camera:

Olympus OM-D E-M1X, not a lightweight camera, but balances well with the M.Zuiko 40-150mm F2.8 Pro
Lenses:
M.Zuiko 40-150mm F2.8 Pro with the MC-20 teleconverter;

works basically for everything from 5mm size and 50cm distance upwards.
M.Zuiko 60mm F2.8 Macro, sometimes with extension rings;
I use it for close distance and small insects from 0,5mm to 20mm
