Description

A 3/4" to 1" wide flower head with 15 to 25 violet to purple rays. The plant grows 8" to 24" tall.
Native.

Prefers a dry habitat on prairies and cliffs in full sun.
Blooms Aug to Oct
The leaves are densely covered in long, fine hairs that give them a silky feel and silvery sheen.
The stems are wiry and delicate.
