Description

(Locality obscured to protect small population)

A relatively rare, endemic alpine stink bug.

Captured for research into the potential host range of Trissolcus japonicus, an Asian parasitoid wasp being considered for biological control of brown marmorated stink bug, should BMSB arrive in NZ.

I'm uploading the observation, but finding H. hudsonae was a team effort.

You can read about the expedition to collect it here: Finding NZ’s Rarest ‘Bug’
