a surprising find, on south facing loamy soils with sandstone. plants erect, leaves long hairy, bracts acuminate, tube >30mm, style much longer than filamanets and rather ciliate. A combination of characters that doesn't quite fit any described taxon, but perhaps closest to the CR Babiana latifolia, from the base of the Piketberg, some distance away
