Description

Scale bar = 10µm

Valves are linear-lancelote. Central area is transversely elliptical. Raphe is straight with tear-drop proximal ends. Striae are slightly radiate at the center, becoming convergent at apices. Although the width of these specimens is slightly wider than that reported by diatoms.org, it is within the width range reported by Patrick and Reimer 1966.

This specimen differs from other navicula due to its coarse striae, shape, and tear-drop raphe ends.
