Common - Te Ahumata is close to if not the type locality for this Aotea (Great Barrier Island) endemic. Most plants seen with flower buds but a few flowering. Olearia allomii is one of the very few vascular plant rhyolite endemics that I know of (others are Dracophyllum patens, Kunzea sinclairii and Epacris sinclairii)
