Description

I am not sure if I am allowed to share a picture. Seven Sphinx Moths, alive and well in Illinois. My mom did not know what these were and sent a phone picture to me. She went out in her back yard and said they were literally fighting all on a leaf. It was a yellow flower she was not sure of the name. People give her seeds and she plants them sometimes to see what they become. One year we had a 7 foot Marijuana plant growing, it was beautiful! She said the leaves were so neat looking. I said Mom, you have to take this down unless you want to go to jail. My Dad cut it down immediately! (lol)
I told her I thought they were Sphinx Moths. She did not want them to stay in her yard for fear they would eat all her plants. I told her to contact The Rock River Butterfly Avery. They are having a live display for a few months by her home. They may take them and take care of them until it is time to release them. She was excited about that idea. So she is calling them.
