The King James version of Leviticus 11:20 says:
"All fowls that creep, going upon all four, shall be an abomination unto you" and I wondered what the heck kind of four-legged birds they had back then, but this guy has like eight legs! So either he's double unkosher, or it wraps around and becomes kosher again.

Anyway, there were two parent lapwings and 3-4 chicks running around inside the fenced area around the pool. In the 2nd & 3rd photos you can see his (or her) defensive "elbow" spikes jutting out.
