Located whilst undertaking contracted surveys looking for new populations of the Threatened-Nationally Critical Awakopaka skink (Oligosoma awakopaka). One at 1,100 metres and one at 1,200 metres a.s.l. Under large rocks near the base of the smooth granite wall amongst tussocks, grasses, herbs, ferns, and shrubs.
