Description

Indian Blanket (Gaillardia pulchella)

6 July 2014: While walking the North Lakes Inner Trail at North Lakes Park, Denton, Texas, we came upon a blooming field of different native wildflowers and the one that was most abundant at that site on that day was none other than Indian Blanket (Gaillardia pulchella). Atop one of the flowers rested a Brown Blister Beetle (Epicauta immaculata) that seemed to be feeding on what the flower had to offer. North Lakes Park is administered by the City of Denton, Texas.
