Description

Female sitting on egg in artificial burrow within Sweetwater Conservation Covenant. 200 Chatham Island Petrel chicks were translocated to this location from Hokorereoro / Rangatira / South East Island between
2008–2011. Chicks were placed in artificial burrows located within a predator-exclusion fence. The translocation has been extremely successful and now the adults birds descended from that translocation are returning and breeding and the colony is expanding.
