These tiny snails, barely larger than a quarter in size, become scattered across the wet shoreline during low tides and sunsets. Their spiraling shell gives them a radial symmetry and the alternation from dark to light bands of color make it virtually unnoticeable in sea grasses. This gastropod is characteristically know for the sharp spikes at the upper region of its shell, resembling those of a crown.
