Stained Tree Frog (Boana maculateralis)

Observer

Date

Description

This is one of the many brown tree frog species in the Peruvian Amazon, formerly in the Hyla Genus, later reclassified as Hypsiboas. These seem to support the snake population as one of their staple forage items. On another hike we saw the hind end of this species hanging out of the mouth of a tree snake. Sadly no photo!
