Abundant on mostly bare (devoid of plants) serpentinite rock just above high tide mark. Thallus crustose, thick, flaking in large chunks, rimose-areolate, off-white to pale grey. Apothecia with ± white to pale grey pruinose discs, ascospores initially curved, becoming broadly fusiform with age outer wall ornamented.
