This species complex is diurnal, flies very early in the year, and is rarely observed/collected. E. coquillettella appears to be the most applicable name for this moth. The white HW and the orange-yellow FW spots match E. coquilettella, and one of the known host plants (Phacelia distans) for this species is present. This is the only individual I have ever seen at Pinnacles. Specimen collected under NPS permit and deposited in Pinnacles NP museum collection.
