scale bar in image is 10 μm
This diatom has lanceolate valves with protracted ends. The canal raphe is eccentric (positioned more in the middle than normal) and is covered by distinct fibulae that appear at inconsistent intervals. The striae are too fine to be discernible in a light microscope.
In observed specimen,
length range= 25-34 μm
width range = 4-4.5 μm
fibulae density range = 7-7 per 10 μm
