Description

This species is only known from the Mata Atlantica region of southeastern Brazil. It’s only lookalike is T. dendroidea, the only other member of subgenus Thamnomyces, from which it is separated by being uniperitheciate. We had no razor blades at the park with which to section these, but multiple other people confirm having checked this feature at or after the foray.

This was the winner of the “Sausage Award” (Prêmio Salsicha), given to recognize the coolest collection of the Rick Foray each year.
