Description

Costus pulverulentus was found to be very common at lower altitudes (below 500 meters) in the Chinantla region of Oaxaca, Mexico. The form found here differs somewhat from the form found in Central America. The corolla lobes do not curl outward and the plant tends to grow to a height of less than 2 meters, usually seen maturing at about 1.5 meters.
