A rare bird sighting in Big Sur.

A buzzing rarity was recently spotted along the Big Sur coast.

Two broad-billed hummingbirds were spotted and photographed at Grimes Point by Suzanne O’Rourke, a visitor to the Monterey Bay Birding Festival, on Sept. 29. The last time the bird had been spotted in Monterey County was on Sept. 29, 1984.
