Rare newborn gray whale seen migrating through Monterey Bay.

A teeny-tiny — at least by whale standards — gray whale calf was spotted swimming alongside mom in Monterey Bay earlier this month.
The baby was likely just a day or two old, said Nancy Black, marine biologist with Monterey Bay Whale Watch, noting that it's rare to get such a close look at a newborn whale.
