A NEW GROUP WALK/HIKE SCHEDULED! THE FOURTH.

CITY NATURE CHALLENGE-LOUISVILLE METRO 2024

We've added another group walk/hike in a natural area for you to join if you want! We have four now, 2 for Saturday April 27th and 2 for Sunday April 28th. (SEE POST BELOW)

Here is the new one:

  1. WHEN: Saturday, April 27- 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
WHERE: Join Retired Professor of Ecology, Margaret Carreiro, on the Wild Hyacinth Trail of Turkey Run Park (Part of the Parklands of Floyds Fork) to look primarily for flowers and insects. The Camassia (Wild Hyacinth) could still be blooming then!
DETAILS: We will meet at the parking lot of the Ben Stout House at 8630 Turkey Run Pkwy, Louisville, KY 40299. (38°07'13.3"N 85°32'09.4"W)
There's plenty to see in the first half mile, which is easy if you want to turn around after it gets to a tad of a hill. But the path is wide and well-traveled. Nothing tricky. But could be slippery in spots if it has rained recently. https://theparklands.org/location/wild-hyacinth-trail/ Look at the Photos! So much Camassia! (Wild Hyacinth).
