City Nature Challenge: the results are in!

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped organize, participated in, and identified observations from the 6th annual City Nature Challenge! Despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we had over 10,000 more people participate compared to last year, and for the first time ever, we made over one million observations in the four days of the challenge!

Here are the collective results:

Garden Routers you rock!
Congrats and well done. An amazing result to log almost 20,000 obs by so few observers. To record 3,000 or so species. 5th for species in the world and placed 11th in 419 participants for observations.
Thanks to all who just went for it.
Big thank you to Shaun and Christine who held the organisational bits together. Of course a major whoop whoop to the Outramps CREW group who added stacks of obs and then ploughed in expertise as identifiers.
Now, hopefully will have time to peek at what the rest of SA added during CNC, being so busy one kind of misses out on that. Teensy bit of FOMO 😊
