Identify time!

Time to identify City Nature Challenge observations! Results will be announced Monday, May 9th.

Did you know that anyone can help with identification on iNaturalist?

No formal training or expertise is needed because even sorting observations into very general categories like "plant" or "frog" can be super helpful! Globally there are currently 304,162 observations that don't have any label at all. Can you help out?

Other ways to help

Not so interested in identifying? How about marking whether a plant is budding, flowering, or fruiting, or if an observation is of an egg, larva, or adult? There are a ton of other ideas listed here: https://forum.inaturalist.org/t/ways-to-help-out-on-inat-wiki/1983

I believe i've gone through all the fungi.

Posted by robhallock about 2 years ago

If i post today, does it get added to the challenge? It reads like it will automatically, Is that desired or not?

Posted by yurmom2 about 2 years ago

@yurmom2 The "observation date" just needs to be between April 29th and May 2nd. So you do still have time to upload observations of nature sightings from this past weekend. All observations within that time period and within the place boundaries are automatically counted in the project. Great. Do I need to “leave” the group to avoid mucking up the data with new observations starting today?

Posted by yurmom2 almost 2 years ago

nope! you're all set
