FAQ's

1) If I worked on the pollinator project in 2019 and remember where my bee bowls were, do I need to survey there for this survey?
~ While you can survey that same area within your MP, you can also expand to include other sites within the MP.
2) What is a site and what is a MP?
~ A MP (milepost) refers to the length of the mile. Ex: MP 189 would include 189.0-189.9. When reporting MP only use whole numbers. A site refers to the area within the MP you are surveying at.
3) How long should I survey?
~ The total time surveying a MP should be approximately 1 hour. If multiple people are surveying the MP the time is still 1 hour. If multiple groups are surveying various sites within the MP the total time should equal 1 hour. Ex: Group 1 at 189.2 and group 2 at 189.6 should aim each for 30 min.
4) How far off the road should I survey?
~ Depends on the area. Our first priority is safety. Only survey at areas that are accessible and safe to park at. You can ...more ↓

This project is in collaboration with the NPS, BRPW, ASU, and many citizen scientists. Our goal is to document blooming flowers along the BRPW throughout the 2022 season.
