Project News

Hello,

Mossnerd here with some announcements about the project moving forward!

Due to changes with the original project managers, I was generously given curator status for Garden Escapees. I apologize for the lack of activity in the past few months; things should be picking up around here.

Good news! around 100 species have been added to the list of taxa we'll be recording. This includes plants considered highly invasive by the North Carolina Native Plant Society, and the original list can be found here: https://ncwildflower.org/invasive-exotic-species-list/

Note: the geographical restriction will be kept to North Carolina to make moderating the project easier. I want to be sure the information here is as accurate as possible which becomes more difficult the more regions are included. This may change in the future, but likely not anytime soon.

I'm in the process of accumulating and curating some resources that might be helpful to you wonderful observers and identifiers should you need them, but I'm unsure when these will be available. If you're interested in helping out with this endeavor, whether through research or fact-checking, please feel free to contact me.

Thank you!
