Reminder about plant/insect interaction tags

Hi All -

I'm glad to see that the project population is increasing! Welcome to all of the new members.

I need to remind those of you posting observations that all observations need to be tagged with a plant ID so that we can extract information on the critter population attracted to each plant species.

Thanks for your cooperation.

Some changes to the project.

Hello friends of the Pandapas Pond Pollinator Garden.

First of all, I'd like to thank those of you who have added observations, and apologize for a few hiccups. It seems that the data entry process is different depending on whether you upload observations via the Upload button on your dashboard, or from the project page using the blue button. Sorry for the confusion.

There are enough observations in the project now for me to play with the data a bit, and I was disappointed to find that the Observation Fields are pretty much useless. I was hoping to use them to search the data set for observations on a selected plant, but it just doesn't work that way. The good news is that tags are searchable, so I've changed the project instructions to request plant IDs via a tag on each observations.

Finally, I've gone through the data manually, and found some interesting preliminary results:

The top four plants in the garden, so far, in terms of most insect species attracted, are Penstemon digitalis, Whorled Rosinweed, Mountain Mint, and Monardas. Also, Culvers Root is getting much more traffic than anyone realized, and Goldenrod should move up the list after the latest observations are entered.
