Achievements of this project

Our contributors have gradually created a baseline record of readily-observed SoCal stinkbug diversity. One of the most prominent species in this database - bagrada bug - is notable (despite the insect's small size) by it's conspicuous numbers and frequently observed mating behavior. When combined with the observations of the brown marmorated stinkbug and the African cluster bug, it easy to grasp the nuisance posed by these introduced insects, not to mention their destructive habits.

One bit of good news that seems well-documented: the brown marmorated stinkbug has NOT YET invaded the Southern California interior, thus far sticking to the coastal counties of Los Angeles and (northern) Orange.
