Gilligan & Brown in Pohl & Nanz (2023) moved several Holarctic species of Olethreutes to Phiaris, following the placement of Aarvik (2017) and recognizing that most Nearctic Olethreutes species are misplaced based on European workers' concepts of Olethreutes, Phiaris, and Argyroploce.
The species moved in this change are: schulziana, turfosana, nordeggana, glaciana, metallicana, inquietana, and septentrionana. The species bipartitana was also included in this change by mistake and it will be subsequently placed back into Olethreutes. Other Olethreutes species have not been moved, and Olethreutes remains a distinct genus from Phiaris.
This taxon change also eliminates duplicated taxa for several of these species in iNaturalist taxonomy.
Unintended disagreements occur when a parent (B) is
thinned by swapping a child (E) to another part of the
taxonomic tree, resulting in existing IDs of the parent being interpreted
as disagreements with existing IDs of the swapped child.
Identification
ID 2 of taxon E will be an unintended disagreement with ID 1 of taxon B after the taxon swap
If thinning a parent results in more than 10 unintended disagreements, you
should split the parent after swapping the child to replace existing IDs
of the parent (B) with IDs that don't disagree.
