@gparosenberg It looks like MB has moved this (back?) to Lindapecten, so should we swap the other way?

@thomaseverest I can't tell why MolluscaBase changed the classification; it still had Aequipecten (Lindapecten) as a synonym of Aequipecten. Since Waller (2011) accepted Lindapecten, I think we should accept it in iNaturalist as well.

I'm only seeing the subgenus Lindapecten listed under the genus Lindapecten. It's listed under Aequipecten, but only as a reference to Lindapecten.

That's because I fixed it.

Ah I missed that. Should be good to swap then. You know I have found a lot of other similar inconsistencies if you're interested in fixing them. :)

Depends on the change. Sometimes it's better to let them percolate a while. Can you email me a list?

There are a wide range of errors, missing names, etc. For many of them I don't know what the correct change would be, but there are some that should be an easy fix like this. I've been collecting them and waiting to send them to the editors all at once, but that might take too long and be too much to handle. All of the names on page 1 here need some sort of resolution:
https://www.inaturalist.org/taxon_frameworks/22/relationship_unknown?filters%5Brank%5D=species&filters%5Btaxon_id%5D=&filters%5Btaxon_name%5D=&page=1&utf8=%E2%9C%93
Some of the alternate positions here as well:
https://www.inaturalist.org/taxon_framework_relationships?filters%5Balternate_position%5D=1&filters%5Bexternal_rank%5D=&filters%5Bexternal_taxon_name%5D=&filters%5Binternal_rank%5D=&filters%5Bis_active%5D=&filters%5Bmany_to_many%5D=0&filters%5Bmany_to_one%5D=0&filters%5Bmatch%5D=0&filters%5Bnot_external%5D=0&filters%5Bnot_internal%5D=0&filters%5Bone_to_many%5D=0&filters%5Bone_to_one%5D=0&filters%5Btaxon_framework_id%5D=22&filters%5Btaxon_id%5D=&filters%5Btaxon_name%5D=&filters%5Buser_id%5D=&page=2&utf8=%E2%9C%93

I'll send an email with specific instances when I get a little more time.

I see what you mean. The first one on the list Aegopis laughofferi is treated as Aegopis septentrionalis laughofferi in WoRMS https://www.molluscabase.org/aphia.php?p=taxdetails&id=1003491. That name also appears on iNat: https://www.inaturalist.org/observations?taxon_id=1352265. But that placement disagrees with Welter-Schultes: http://www.animalbase.uni-goettingen.de/zooweb/servlet/AnimalBase/home/species?id=3509.

Exactly. That's something that maybe Eike Neubert would be best to email with. I had started a discussion here, but that doesn't seem to have helped:

I'll look through and pick out the easier fixes for an email.
