@najera_tutor it looks like you've made a chance that curates away from the direction of POWO, our reference from Cistaceae (notice that the input has a green 'match' badge). Please make sure you first flag the input taxon (Helianthemum coulteri) to propose a deviation before making the taxon change, mention a few people and leave about a week to discuss. Looks like exiting flag here https://www.inaturalist.org/flags/399050

If we wait for POWO to do so then there is not much citizen science here to do.

if Crocanthemum is for the "new continent" and Helianthemum is for the "old continent" what are we waiting for, POWO's approval?

we just need to compare distributions and fix the taxonomy, it is not even much of a problem unless we want to follow POWO religiously and do not follow the first premise for the scientific method, "always to question"

The policy is if you are proposing to deviate from POWO to first discuss the deviation in a flag and reach an agreement. Looks like a flag exists: https://www.inaturalist.org/flags/399050 please chime in.
But even if a deviation is agreed to, curation is ore complex than what you have done here. You need to create a deviation to signal other taxon curators not to curate in the direction of POWO and I think here Helianthemum would need to be split I'm not sure.

Any way first step is to discuss in the flag https://www.inaturalist.org/flags/399050
