Of note a very large population of Neotropics hang out in this area
1 seen flying away.
Headed down to the Lower Rio Grande Valley for a staff meeting with the other urban wildlife biologists.
Stayed at Oso Blanco for the evening in Zapata -- nice little place.
Poor guy had been hit by a vehicle? It had a large hole in the posterior part of its upper shell. Maybe from a large rock that hit the turtle after a car drove by? I moved the turtle to a nearby forest block off the road.
Sorry for the poor picture, but had been after one of these for a while. Barely visible is the smaller bird which it had just captured.
