M.S. in Biology and B.S. in Ecology and Evolution. I am a naturalist interested in the assembly of chaparral and desert biotic communities as well as natural urban flora. My research includes the ecology of chaparral birds in response to wildfire, and the biogeography of isolated plant and bird communities in desert mountains. I currently study arid adapted chaparral plant taxa and use multivariate approaches to model environmental influence on their distribution, patterns of community assembly at a landscape scale, and the effects of climate change on future habitat suitability.
