Oakland Lake Mini Nature Challenge this Saturday, March 10! More practice for CNC!

Great job last Saturday, NYC observers! You added 246 observations of 62 species at Randall's Island Park! This Saturday, March 10, our friends at the NYC Ecoflora Project have organized a second Mini Nature Challenge at Oakland Lake in Alley Pond Park, Queens!

The Oakland Lake Mini Nature Challenge will be from 10am-12pm on Saturday, March 10. Meet at the trail entrance to Oakland Lake, near the corner of 46 Avenue and Cloverdale Boulevard. Everyone is welcome to join! Dress appropriately for the weather and bring your fully-charged smartphone or camera. It will be a great opportunity to learn some iNaturalist tips, interact with local nature lovers, and even get to meet some iNaturalist power users! Click here for more info.

Alley Pond Park has a special place in my heart because that was the site of last year's Macaulay Honors College BioBlitz! See our awesome results on the project page.

Here are the dates for the next Mini Nature Challenges (details will follow for each event):
March 17, Clay Pit Ponds State Park, Staten Island
March 24, Concrete Plant Park (tentative location), Bronx
April 18, Brooklyn Bridge Park, Brooklyn
