Randall's Island Mini Nature Challenge! Get ready for the main event!
Our friends at the NYC Ecoflora Project have organized some great Mini Nature Challenges to help get everyone ready for the main event and the first one is THIS SATURDAY!
The Randall's Island Mini Nature Challenge will be from 10am-12pm at Randall's Island Park, Manhattan. Meet at the south side entrance of Icahn Stadium at 10am. Look for a Nature Challenge sign. Everyone is welcome to join! Dress appropriately for the weather and bring your fully-charged smartphone or camera. It will be a great opportunity to learn some iNaturalist tips, interact with local nature lovers, and even get to meet some iNaturalist power users!

March 10, Oakland Lake @ Alley Pond Park, Queens
March 17, Clay Pit Ponds State Park, Staten Island
March 24, Concrete Plant Park (tentative location), Bronx
April 18, Brooklyn Bridge Park, Brooklyn

Thanks Kelly for posting this. Please, anyone who is around, do feel free to come and join us for this little event. The weather should be OK by 10 am on Saturday, even if it is not so great early in the morning.
These days Randall's Island is a really cool place with an amazing amount of nature! It is an undiscovered gem in the heart of the city. I love it there -- I am there usually twice a week or sometimes even more often than that. If you have not been to Randall's for years and years, let me tell you, it is completely transformed into something beautiful. If you have only ever been there for a music festival, it is definitely worth a visit as a nature destination.
And, as the spring progresses and turns into summer, Randall's just keeps getting more and more beautiful. :)
