Someone brought this into the office today and I thought it was pretty cool. Turns out it is one of the oldest cultivated fruits from Asia.

This one got into our garden and it took a while to get it out again.
Very happy calochortus! Again very abundant in the recent burn zones.
On the lower bark and ground near a eucalyptus tree. Source of ID
Looks like a species of Eristalis, though I don't know.
