City Nature Challenge begins at 12:01AM tonight

Hi iNaturalists:

Tonight begins the City Nature Challenge. It looks like the weather might bring some showers during the challenge, but it's not looking like a complete washout. Let's see how many species you can find and I will be keeping a close eye on your findings. The most important thing is to have fun and let's beat California!

I have noticed some of the observations are of species that do not naturally occur in Texas, much less the Austin area. Is this challenge documenting literally anything, regardless of whether it's captive or purchased at a nursery and planted in your front yard?

When does it end?

Beth, all observations are counted. If a species is cultivated, it should be designated.
Marc, the challenge ends at midnight on April 18th.
